THE CITY

Located on the French Riviera, at the Italian border, the Principality of Monaco, currently governed by Grace Kelly’s son, Prince Albert the II, is an international renowned state. This small city-state of luxury and beauty is divided into 5 districts. Monte Carlo is the most well-known district thanks to its famous “Carré d’or”, with the Monte Carlo Casino, the Sporting d’hiver and the Café de Paris. The second smallest country in the world welcomes, throughout the year, thousands of visitors who come to gaze the luxurious monuments and to discover the major tourist attractions of Monaco such as the Oceanographic Museum and the Prince’s Palace.

This cosmopolitan state, where we can find more than 125 nationalities, is also home to many large international events ; the Formula One Grand Prix, the Monte Carlo Rally and the Monte Carlo Rolex Masters gather each year the greatest sportsmen of the world.

Coming to Monaco

By plane :

- Nice airport, located at 22km from the center of Monaco Monte Carlo.

It is possible to reach Monaco thanks to bus and helicopters services.

By car :

The Principality of Monaco can be accessed by the French road network. The fastest way is the A8 motorway. It is also possible to drive along the coast on the “basse” or “moyenne corniche” (lower or middle coastal road).

  

By train :

- SNCF railway station: Monaco-Monte Carlo station is on the Paris-Ventimiglia line. All international trains stop at Monaco.

All the citizens of a European Union country member, of the EEA or of Switzerland, do not need a visa to stay in Edinburgh. They only need a valid identity card or a passport, still usable 3 months after the return.
