Lille, the most Flemish of French cities, will seduce you with its colourful architecture and its warm hospitality. In the heart of the old city, the Grand'Place and some neighbourhood as well shows a typical french architecture of this region. Some rows of identical houses, high and narrow, are reflecting the influence of french art, which were developped after the conquest of the city by Louis XIV in 1667. Thanks to its business district and its two train stations (Lille Flanders and Lille Europe) where dozens of TGV per day cross, Lille today revives its magnificence as a capital at the heart of the Europe of trade and exchanges.
